Abstract

Reka bentuk hentian bas memainkan peranan penting bagi memastikan kemudah-capaian, keselesaan dan keselamatan penumpang ketika menunggu untuk menaiki bas atau ketika turun dari bas. Hasil penelitian terhadap pelbagai sumber menunjukkan bahawa tiada garis panduan khusus dalam pembangunan reka bentuk hentian bas di Malaysia yang menyebabkan reka bentuk hentian bas sedia ada sukar diakses, kurang selesa dan mengundang bahaya terutama kepada pengguna yang mempunyai masalah pergerakan. Kajian ini bermatlamat untuk mengkaji permasalahan bagi salah satu komponen dalam reka bentuk hentian bas iaitu tapak hentian bas. Kajian memberi tumpuan kepada reka bentuk hentian bas di dalam kampus induk Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Kajian melibatkan lima sampel hentian bas yang berada di laluan utama perkhidmatan bas transit yang menjadi tumpuan pengguna dalam kampus. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat pelbagai masalah yang melibatkan faktor kemudah-capaian, keselesaan dan keselamatan. Hasil kajian kemudiannya digunakan dalam membangunkan cadangan kriteria reka bentuk tapak hentian bas yang lebih kondusif berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip reka bentuk sejagat.
