Journal History

The History of the Establishment of e-Jurnal Penyelidikan dan Inovasi (e-JPI)

e-Jurnal Penyelidikan dan Inovasi (e-JPI) was founded in 2014, originally managed manually by a dedicated editorial team. This initial phase involved traditional processes for manuscript submission, peer review, and publication, which were handled without the aid of specialized digital platforms. Despite the manual operation, e-JPI managed to maintain a steady publication schedule and built a reputation for quality scholarly content in various disciplines.

In 2022, e-JPI made a significant leap in its operational framework by adopting the Open Journal Systems (OJS), an open-source software designed to streamline the publication process. This transition to OJS enabled e-JPI to automate key tasks such as manuscript submission, peer review, and editorial decision-making, enhancing efficiency and improving the overall experience for authors, reviewers, and editors. The adoption of OJS marked a pivotal moment in the journal's history, allowing it to scale up its operations and expand its reach to a broader academic audience.

Since transitioning to OJS, e-JPI has continued to evolve and achieve greater milestones. Notably, the journal attained recognition from MyCite, a citation index system in Malaysia, which further underscored its commitment to academic excellence and its role in disseminating impactful research. The journal’s inclusion in MyCite has enhanced its visibility and credibility within the academic community, positioning e-JPI as a significant contributor to scholarly discourse in Malaysia and beyond.

Today, e-JPI stands as a testament to the progress and innovation in academic publishing, continually adapting to technological advancements while upholding its mission to provide a platform for high-quality research dissemination. e-JPI serves as a platform for academics and researchers to disseminate their findings and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their respective fields. The journal's commitment to open access ensures that its content is freely available to a global audience, promoting wider dissemination and engagement with the research it publishes.
