Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

FORMAT AND STYLE

All manuscripts must be written in MS Word with the following specification:

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 11.
  • Margin: 2.54 cm or 1 inch all round.
  • Spacing: 1.5 and justified.
  • Manuscripts can either in Malay, English or Arabic.
  • Title in English is required if the article is written in Malay or Arabic.
  • Abstract (180-250 words) should include the following: aim, method, results and conclusion. Abstract in English is required if the article is written in Malay or Arabic.
  • Keywords: up to 5 words.
  • Tables and figures should be included within the text of the paper and must be numbered according to its subsequence; ie: Table 1: Demographic Data, Figure 1: Standard of Procedure. Font: Times New Roman, size 10 (For Table and Figure).
  • Quotations of Quranic verses or hadith texts:
  • In text referencing of Quranic verses should mention the name of Surah, followed by the chapter numbers and the verse numbers; e.g. (Al-Fatihah, 1: 3). As for hadith texts, reference is to be made to the hadith source, followed by the name of Kitab, then chapter and hadith number; e.g., (Sahih Muslim, Kitab.…, Bab.…, No.…).
  • MUST include a minimum of two citations from published articles of e-JPI.

REFERENCES

References should follow the referencing style used by the latest American Psychological Association (APA) in alphabetical order. All sources cited in the paper must be included in the References section. 

References should be placed in alphabetical order at the end of the paper and should be in Roman script. Footnotes should be avoided (except for clarification purposes). A few references should be current i.e. within the last 5 years.

SUBMISSION

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that fall within the scope of the e-JPI. The articles published in e-JPI are going through a double-blind peer-review process. Hence, the decision on whether the scientific article is accepted or not, will be the Editorial Board’s right based on the peer reviewer's recommendation.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the e-JPI website. It is important that manuscript preparation is done according to the journal’s Guidelines for Authors. We deserve the right to immediately reject or withdraw submission that does not cohere the journal’s guidelines.

We only accept one paper per author for one volume.

Kindly be noted on final submission for these editions:

  1. April Edition: Before the 1st of February
  2. September Edition: Before the 1st of July

 

Adherence to Submission Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to e-JPI must meet the requirements stated in our submission guidelines and must follow the format specified in the template guide. If the requirements are not met, submissions will be returned to the author and cannot progress to the review stage.
