Abstract

Penggunaan inovasi adalah salah satu teknik dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran semasa. Kelas konvensional yang dlaksanakan oleh pensyarah tanpa alat bantu mengajar kurang memberi sumbangan ke arah meningkatkan keupayaan pelajar untuk menguasai kemahiran. Alat simulasi dalam pendidikan perhotelan dicadangkan untuk mengisi kekurangan tersebut dengan mendedahkan pelajar dalam situasi perniagaan yang ketara. Dalam kajian ini, Front Office Tasks Simulator (FOTS) telah digunakan sebagai alat pengajaran yang inovatif untuk pelajar perhotelan khususnya dalam subjek Front Office. Oleh itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tanggapan pelajar terhadap Front Office Tasks Simulator (FOTS) dari segi kebergunaan, mudah diguna dan sikap terhadap penggunaan FOTS semasa melaksanakan aktiviti simulasi dan mengkaji sama ada faktor-faktor ini berkorelasi. Para responden adalah 22 pelajar dari Kolej Komuniti Sungai Petani yang mengambil kursus Front Office pada semester ketiga. Soal selidik telah diedarkan untuk mengumpul data. Hasil dapatan mendedahkan bahawa skor min keseluruhan tanggapan kebergunaan, tanggapan mudah diguna berada di tahap tinggi, dan pelajar mempunyai sikap yang positif terhadap penggunaan FOTS semasa melakukan aktiviti praktikal. Hasil kajian juga mendapati prestasi pembelajaran pelajar meningkat selepas menggunakan FOTS. Kesimpulannya, dicadangkan pengintegrasian Front Office Tasks Simulator (FOTS) perlu dikongsikan kepada institusi lain yang menawarkan kursus yang sama dan kajian selanjutnya harus dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti faktor-faktor tersebut sama ada hasil kajian adalah kesamaan.
