Factors Influencing Parenting Style Among Muslim Families in Civil Society

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang mendorong ibu bapa daripada keluarga Muslim dalam masyarakat madani mengamalkan pendekatan keibubapaan tertentu. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui reka bentuk fenomenologi, data diperoleh daripada protokol temu bual bersama tiga orang peserta kajian yang merupakan ibu bapa Muslim dengan anak-anak berusia antara 15 hingga 23 tahun. Hasil kajian dianalisis secara induktif dan merumuskan lima tema utama yang mempengaruhi pendekatan keibubapaan, iaitu: (i) latar belakang dan pengalaman peribadi ibu bapa, termasuk usaha memutuskan kitaran trauma atau kesukaran silam; (ii) komunikasi dan kerjasama antara pasangan dalam menyelaraskan didikan; (iii) latar belakang pendidikan ibu bapa yang melibatkan kesedaran untuk terus menimba ilmu keibubapaan; (iv) pegangan agama sebagai asas dan neraca utama dalam membentuk sahsiah anak; serta (v) adaptasi dengan keperluan semasa bagi mendepani cabaran teknologi dan perubahan sosial. Secara keseluruhannya, kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa pendekatan keibubapaan tidak berlaku secara spontan, sebaliknya merupakan hasil interaksi pelbagai faktor yang saling melengkapi demi menjamin kesejahteraan psikologi dan perkembangan diri anak-anak dalam realiti kehidupan moden.
