THE DESIGNATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF WEBGIS-BASED INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR PONGKOR NATIONAL GEOPARK TOURISM EVENT PROMOTION

Abstract

Pongkor Geopark is a Geopark Area located in Bogor Regency is still very new in its management, so the facilities are less than those offered by other Geoparks. Currently, the Pongkor Geopark system is still conventional. Information about tourist attractions is still managed manually, such as through brochures or pamphlets available at each event, and information is obtained through person to person. Because this system does not have a centralized event database management, information becomes less effective and difficult for the community to obtain, which requires tourists to visit tourist sites directly to obtain information. Through an information technology approach by applying waterfall model system development methods which include Communication, Planning, Modelling, Construction, and Deployment. This system uses the PHP programming language and MySQL database as data storage. This research has succeeded in developing an application, namely a  webgis-based Pongkor National Geopark tourism event promotion information system, the features in this application function well, such as Upcoming events, search and filter events, Review and Rating, Statistics, and event distribution map.
